Well, here I am without my iPhone and feeling naked. It's amazing how much I use that thing. I used the calendar during my IEP/ITP meetings to set meeting dates (which of course is synced to my gmail account). I text with my wife throughout the day to check how she's doing. I use factime to talk to family and colleagues. I listen to music. Next week we're going to Minneapolis to "Closing the Gap" and I'm using Google maps to plan the trip and where we'll be driving around the city.
My wife and I both have laptops, but it is much more convenient to use the iPhone to check email or surf the net. It is much easier to shop online using the iPhone because the are so many sites for mobile phones that are easy to navigate. Shopping online makes Christmas shopping so easy, in fact, we have done ALL of our Christmas shopping online for the last 5 years. No stores, no stress, and way cheaper (plus we live right by the border and can get everything from the States and pick it up in the States).
Our iPhones are also the only cameras/video camera that we carry around now (even though we have a very expensive Nikon digital SLR camera) because of the convenience that they offer. We also download movies right onto the phones so that we can watch movies on long trips (my parents live 4 hours away and my wife's parents live 5 hours away).
It looks like I have bought into the whole "iLife" life. Maybe I'll get a free Apple t-shirt.
